In 2003, Heritage Alice Springs (HAS) was founded with a strong conviction that the preservation of a town's heritage sites can only be effectively achieved by groups that are based locally. The Committee of HAS is composed of individuals who possess unwavering enthusiasm and dynamism in safeguarding and promoting the cultural heritage of the Central Australian region, with a keen eye towards the well-being of future generations.
Our website serves as a central hub that provides a wealth of information, guidance, and connections to the numerous heritage sites, historical museums, and cultural groups located in the Central Australian region.
Alice Springs and the Central Australian region boast a wealth of natural and cultural heritage, encompassing both indigenous and non-indigenous elements. There is an abundance of must-visit locations that are sure to leave a lasting impression on your trip to "The Alice" and Central Australia.
Our organisation is limited only by the number of volunteers and funding available. By becoming a member, volunteering your time or making a donation, our association will be able to continue our restoration projects and run more activities.
Heritage Alice Springs aims to keep the community informed about news affecting heritage in the town and the Central Australian region.
Heritage Alice Springs also holds a number of events at The Residency, including the Annual Spring Flower Show and Heritage Week activities.
THANK YOU for supporting Heritage Alice Springs Inc. with generous grants and community support for Pitchi Richi and The Residency.
This allows us to advocate and implement projects that support the continuous protection and promotion of the unique natural and cultural heritage of Alice Springs and the Central Australian region.
